Mr. Saravanakumar A is a seasoned banking professional with over three decades of rich and diverse experience in the banking sector, having joined Bank of Baroda in 1994. Over the years, he has held several key leadership roles across domestic and international operations, contributing significantly to business growth, operational excellence, and strategic transformation.
Prior to his current role as MD & CEO of BOBCARD, he served as Chief General Manager – Retail Liabilities, where he led key retail banking initiatives, strengthening deposit growth and customer-centric strategies. He has also served as General Manager and Zonal Head – Chennai Zone, driving expansion of corporate and retail banking business across Southern India.
Mr. Saravanakumar brings strong global exposure, having led international operations as Subsidiary Head in Kenya, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing profitability and business performance. His extensive experience spans retail banking, rural & agri-finance, treasury, credit, and operations.
He is a postgraduate in Finance (Masters in Management Studies) and holds professional certifications including CAIIB and JAIIB. His leadership has been recognized through multiple awards, including a prestigious honour presented by Shri. M. K. Stalin, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, for his notable contribution to driving significant growth in MSME lending.
